Vinokino Turku

Vinokino is Finland's only film festival shining a spotlight on LGBTQIA+ stories and experiences. Held yearly in Turku and Helsinki by the LGBTQ+ organisation TuSeta, it screens a diverse mix of shorts, docs and features from around the globe over several days. Comedy, drama, artsy, mainstream - Vinokino's film selection captures the full spectrum of queer lives. Never predictable, the festival aims to entertain as well as challenge norms, bring visibility to marginalized groups, and spark thoughtful dialogue. Some themes might be difficult, but important.

Run by volunteers and funded through grants and sponsors rather than ticket sales, Vinokino ultimately provides a one-of-a-kind, community-focused setting for movie buffs and everyday folk alike to come together and celebrate cinema for and about gender and sexual minorities.
