Alvear Palace is one of the most luxurious hotels you can stay at in Buenos Aires. It is probably the most iconic hotel in the city. Opened in 1932, it embodies the grandeur of Buenos Aires' golden years.
The decor is suitably over the top. The design is of the rooms is worthy of a royal palace. Expect chandeliers, gold quilts and white marble bathrooms. If you opt for one of the more upscale rooms you'll have your own butler.
You'll be staying in northern Recoleta, so there's lots of gay nightlife destinations within walking distance in the barrio.
There's also plenty to do during the daytime in and around the area.
