Casa Gangotena

Incredible colonial-style hotel located in the Plaza San Francisco square of Old Town Quito. Casa Gangotena offers panoramic views of the historic centre, including the residential Panacillo hillside. The on-site restaurant serves classic Ecuadorian food with locally sourced seasonal ingredients.

The building is a restored 18th-century mansion. It was rebuilt in the 1920s having burned down in 1914. The building is fairly small - there are only 31 rooms. It's ideal if you prefer a more homely atmosphere.

The elegant air-conditioned rooms are spacious and feature marble bathroom and double height windows. Some overlook the hotel's courtyard, others overlook Quito's historic centre.

Casa Gangotena is just 200 meters from Casa del Albado Museum and Quito's gay 'pink zone' is within an 8-minute drive of the property. In the Pink Zone you can find great gay bars, such as Pravada.
